LASZLO MOHOLY-NAGY BOOK

Can one person serve as writer, designer and information architect? This book was my first successful attempt to wear multiple hats. I spent two weeks researching Moholy-Nagy and writing the content for this book. During the research process, I discovered Moholy-Nagy’s multi-disciplinary past as a photographer, graphic designer, filmmaker and sculptor. His mastery of various mediums allowed him to move between artistic communities and develop a model of design thinking that integrated these various arts. In the book, I wanted to heighten awareness of his past and show how his ability to cross disciplines influenced his artistic life. The book provides a brief chronology and introduction to Moholy-Nagy. The remainder of the book is devoted to the many types of design he engaged. The visual design of the book emphasizes the strong lines and clean layouts of the Bauhaus movement that Moholy-Nagy pioneered.
